Woodward-Granger Community School District is located just minutes northwest of Des Moines metro area. Woodward- Granger community school serves approximately 800 students for the communities of Woodward and Granger. We are proud of our small town values with a commitment for 21st Century Learning.
Woodward-Granger is a growing, progressive school district that is strongly supported by its community stakeholders. As evidence of this support the elementary recently remodeled (2006) by adding 57,238 square feet of classroom space. In May 2007 the district passed a bond issue to complete a 7.3 million dollar project that includes: 7 additional classrooms, expansion of the cafeteria and kitchen space, a competition sized gym and remodeling of all existing classrooms. The secondary school will gain an additional 37, 331 square feet. A total of 35.34 outdoor school acres are maintained in Woodward and Granger for various student sports and activities.
Woodward-Granger is unique in that in addition to a growing elementary, middle school and high school the district is responsible for the education of students in two other facilities within the school boundaries.
Grandwood is a special education school that serves students ranging from upper elementary to post secondary who have significant developmental delays.
Woodward Academy is a private agency in which adjudicated and CINA'ed youth earn Woodward-Granger credits. This program offers day and residential opportunities for adolescent males.
The City of Granger has purchased an existing church off the the NW corner of the HS baseball field and has plans to open the building as a Community Center. In addition, they have purchased land across from this building and are seeking public input on how to best develop this land for the community. As a public service W-G community school has agreed to post the City's online survey in an effort to generate ideas for this project. Please print this survey and return it to City Hall in Granger with your ideas. Thank you for your support.
